Max Stainton

Max is a disabled finance professional who works in London. He has lived with Cerebral Palsy all his life and has ridden with RDA since aged 5. Apart from riding, his passions are politics, and the theatre.

Livi Shaw

Livi started volunteering at RDA to revisit her childhood interest in horses. She works for a London university and when not volunteering, you’ll find her practicing headstands in yoga, baking or enjoying the green spaces in London.

Lizzie bru

Lizzie has been volunteering at RDA for 2 years and has loved horses since she was little. She hopes to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge next year, and when not horse riding she enjoys cooking for her family of 7.

Candy Parfitt

Candy is a poet, linguist and literary artiste who plans to swap her usual bookish pursuits for the greatest outdoors. She looks forward to raising money for RDA, whose work she witnesses helping Max in many aspects of his life.

 

Carl Reason

Carl runs Zedmill a company which specialises in helping charities tell amazing stories through film and marketing campaigns. Carl has come on board to help Max tell his story.

GOOSE

A loveable coloured mare, Goose is vital in the Riding Everest training programme. She helps Max improve his long distance endurance riding. When not in training Goose enjoys hanging out in the paddock and refusing to be caught. 

Giles Newton

Giles works in the energy industry and has ridden since before he could walk. You can usually find him planning some kind of adventure, playing football, or dreaming of winning The Grand National. 

 

Gavin Bate

Gavin, our mountaineering expert, runs Adventure Alternative. He has raised over half a million pounds for his charity Moving Mountains by scaling Mount Everest six times, even receiving a letter of thanks from PM Theresa May.
